Rancho Murieta Homes
Rancho Murieta is a modern community, with a rich history that goes way back further than its 1960s beginnings.
The modern day beginnings all began when developers requested new zoning along the Cosumnes River to hopefully begin subdividing about 30 one acre parcels on the south side of the river, all within 3 years. The long term plans were to include over 3000 acres on both sides of the river, for homes, town homes, mobile homes, schools including a junior high school, and multiple shopping centers. There were also plans for a 27 hole golf course and an airport. By the end of the 1960s, there was a training center to begin the training of equipment operators to start the major dirt moving.
The 1970s brought the first phase of residential development with streets being established. In 1971 the dedication of the new 18 hole golf course takes place. Word spreads fast about this course and its beauty and professional quality, bringing golfers in from all over Northern California to check it out. In 1972 the Country Club club building is started. The airport, some lakes and reservoirs are also completed and a mobile home complex is being built. The same year the Murieta Mobile Home Village is completed with 209 pads, a 4000 square foot social center, a heated pool, laundry facilities and the TV Master Antenna System is completed.
